Along Two Rivers and Four Banks in Wuhan: Yangtze River’s Largest Light Show

Time: 2016

Region: Wuhan

Industry: Night lighting

Overview

The project is located on the banks of the Yangtze River and Han River (Wuhan section), spanning the three towns of Hankou, Wuchang and Hanyang. Light installations in more than 500 buildings along the 25km Yangtze River main axis constitute the world’s largest synchronized light control project. Those buildings are transformed into a spectacular canvas reputed as the largest screen of Yangtze River, and for the light show itself, the largest of its kind in Yangtze river basin. The light show takes Jianghan culture as its main body and the five senses of people (sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch) as its main narrative line. White dolphins string up five independent stories into a coherent structure, unfolding the cultural history of Wuhan along with the city vision. The project is a spotlight on the landscape axis of the Yangtze River!
