From April 14 to 17, 2024, Planar under the group showcased our strength as a global VFX technology & innovation leader at the NAB Show 2024, hosted by the National Association of Broadcasters, presenting products and solutions including UHD Micro LED display and XR virtual filming. The NAB Show is the premier industry assembly, uniting global broadcasting and TV leaders and showcasing the latest technological advancements.

The award-winning Planar® DirectLight® Pro series of products were proudly displayed at the show. With a pixel pitch of up to 1 mm and outstanding features such as 1000 nit brightness and DCI-P3 color gamut, this series provides high brightness, high color saturation, and rich details even at high ambient light levels. Planar® DirectLight® Pro series also supports 5G transmission bandwidth, caters to market, and creates a stunning visual experience for the broadcasting and TV industry.

Planar® CarbonLight™ CLI Flex series, curved products for broadcasting, was also exhibited. In addition to unparalleled visual performance, this series uses soft modules ideal for the surface of cylindrical or curved objects and a pixel pitch of 0.9~3.9 mm to support applications of internal and external arcs.

Leyard® MGS series outdoor FPP series supporting outdoor broadcasting setting was also demonstrated. This outdoor series adopts self-luminous Micro LED technology and minimalist design, and combines our years of experience in FPP and outdoor products into the core performance to provide outstanding image while lowering the cost of ownership.

Planar and Natural Point, another company under Leyard, presented a virtual filming solution together. An XR virtual filming studio was built on the site. Advanced FPP LED screens that integrate XR virtual filming and motion capture were used to present both virtual and real worlds simultaneously, attracting attention of exhibitors from all over the world.

The OptiTrack system used in the XR virtual filming solution provides stable and reliable information of high-precision and low-latency for camera positioning. With high-speed and wide field motion tracking cameras as the active tracking component and passive tracking marker plus advanced motion capture software, OptiTrack is second to none.

As one of the first providers of movie & TV motion capture technologies and solutions and the only Chinese company which offers both film preview (motion capture system) and XR virtual filming (LED system) core solutions, we provide users with the “virtual production and digital industry production” total solution that covers all aspects from script, art design, digital assets, to film preview, virtual filming and film review (LED screening room).

Planar under Leyard also showcased support for a variety of processing platforms for camera visual attributes and deployment flexibility. The company is setting a new industry standard for LED and LCD display surveillance capabilities.
